Trashcan

In the trashcan below me
lies a heap of lies,
people who have betrayed me
wrapped in their own disguise.

Looking down in wonder
of what they once were.
Thrown away, forgotten,
their stories are now blurred.

The trashcan holds my secrets,
my ability to understand.

I toss it to the floor,
and bring my past on top.
The smell is unbearable,
I try to make it stop.

The trash is all around me.
I’m trapped, I try to hide.
They are forcing me to pick them up,
and leave it all behind.

The trashcan holds my secrets,
my ability to understand.

I look at each and everything,
It’s slipping through my hands.
The trash that left a scar in me,
I tuck into the can.

But I can not deny it,
can not forget,
they are for me to know.
I pick them up,
I try my best,
they want me to let go.

The trashcan holds my secrets,
my ability to understand.

Finally I realize,
The shit inside the can,
Made me strong, made me sad,
made me who I am.

So I dump it all,
I’m cleaning up,
I Work until the dawn.
Replace the bag,
with a newer one,
and now the smell is gone.
